
Senior Server Engineer

- Lead product ownership for server technologies, from design to implementation, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with internal teams, project managers, and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality server solutions.
- Design, install, and configure server infrastructure, including hardware, OS, monitoring, and backup systems.
- Ensure adherence to company security policies and industry best practices.
- Create clear, concise documentation for designs, configurations, and handover to operations.
- Manage the full lifecycle of server products, driving continuous service improvements and process enhancements.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for the Operations team.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across the Asda Technology function.
- Extensive experience supporting and managing Windows, Linux servers, and VMware infrastructure (L3 level).
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Microsoft Server or VMware certifications.
- Experience in Enterprise Retail IT environments.
- Familiarity with server solutions hosted in Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Knowledge of automation tools like Ansible, Packer.
