- To perform high standard specialist Echocardiograms in a range of clinical conditions including Adult Congenital, Stress, Contrast and Emergency Echo.
- To assist in the training of Cardiac Physiologists and Medical staff in Echocardiography.
- To report, at a high level, echocardiograms performed by physiologists and medical staff in training.
- Triaging of Echocardiography referrals.
- Ensure that personal knowledge is current, reflecting change in clinical practice.
- To review, maintain and develop agreed standards of documentation in accordance with BSE guidelines and department minimum standards, in liaison with Lead Echo Physiologist/Scientist. Support its implementation.
- Develop protocols and procedures to meet local and national requirements for good practice and service delivery.
- Participate in Clinical Physiologist led clinics as required, within these specialist clinics provide clinical advice to the patient and make recommendations/decisions for appropriate follow-up. verbally communicate the echo findings in lay terms and interpreted in the prevailing clinical context.
- Provide a leading role in audit and quality control activities.
- Contribute to identifying areas requiring improvement and conducting audit/service review.
- BSc Honours in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
- Full adult BSE accreditation
- At least one years' experience in echocardiography following full BSE accreditation
- To have RCCP, AHCS or HCPC registration.
