We are currently seeking a proactive, highly organised and hands-on Engineering Project Manager to support the team with the delivery of machine projects, from conception through to completion.This is an engaging role that would fit a highly driven, hands-on professional with a solid background in both project management and engineering within machine building. It will be essential to understand the concepts of commercial project management, as well as a background in mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will be an excellent and confident communicator, able to manage and coordinate a project with many work packages and stakeholders, as well as take a hands-on approach when engaging with the Engineering and Production teams.Role Responsibilities
  • Lead the successful delivery of complex machine build projects, collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Manage all phases of projects from sales handover to machine completion and installation
  • Ensure projects are delivered to the satisfaction of the client for quality, cost, and time
  • Regularly meet with project stakeholders to provide and collect detailed updates, and provide project reports
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, as well as all internal and external project team members, ensuring smooth liaison between all key stakeholders
  • Manage the efficient delivery of project team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards
  • Work closely with the production team, taking a hands-on approach and supporting with machine build as required
  • Collate, distribute and manage all project documentations
  • Manage the completion of all CE documentation, alongside any other required bodies such as UL and UKCA
  • Work closely with the QHSE Manager to ensure completion of thorough risk assessments relating to all aspects of each project
  • Oversee the collation of the customer documentation package
  • Maintain updated job logs and record all operations accurately within Epicor
  • Oversee issues and risk logs
  • Assist departmental managers with resource planning and management
  • Create and manage SOP's and process documents for role related tasks
  • Occasional visits to international sites, as required by project delivery
Skills and CompetenciesEssential
  • Commercial Project Management experience
  • Hands on Engineering or technical experience
  • CAD system experience
  • Confidently able to use project management tools
  • Proficient in all areas of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working with ERP/MRP systems
Desirable
  • AutoCAD (Inventor and Vault) experience
  • Epicor experience
  • Project Management qualification, such as Prince 2
  • Engineering qualification
