Job Description:Robert Half are working on behalf of a well-established organisation to recruit an Assistant Financial Controller. This is a full-time, permanent position based on the outskirts of Glasgow with a hybrid working model.RoleThis is a pivotal role supporting the Financial Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting, managing month-end processes, and ensuring robust financial controls. You'll also play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and board packs
  • Lead on balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity of financial data
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, working closely with department heads
  • Drive improvements in financial processes and internal controls
  • Assist with year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation
  • Provide financial analysis and commentary to support business performance
  • Mentor and support junior finance team members
Skills and Experience
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in a similar role
  • Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in working with senior stakeholders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Salary & Benefits
