Do you have an interest in supporting children with Special Educational Needs?We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in one of our Special Educational Needs school settings in the Coleford area.About the roleWe are looking to welcome a Teaching Assistant who has a passion for working with children with a supportive and encouraging nature. Vision for Education offer a wide range of full time, part time and ad hoc supply work across SEND schools and Alternative Provisions.The role would be set in a specialist setting which caters to pupils with a broad range of SEND including SLD, PMLD, Learning and sensory needs, Neurodiversity, Social Emotional and Mental health needs. Children are likely to be working below levels that are typically expected for their age.The ideal Teaching Assistant will have experience in either a school or care setting for this role, or to be willing to undergo the sufficient training.About the schoolThe school you will be based in is a warm and vibrant special school where every pupil is valued and all achievements are celebrated. The students remain at the heart of every decision the school makes to ensure that they are happy, safe and confident and that the opportunities they offer are matched to their needs for the present and the future.RequirementsTo be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant you will:
  • Have experience with working within an educational setting/classroom.
  • Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the update service.
  • Have experience of working with children or young people. Ideally within school, nursery childcare, youth work, play or care setting within the last 2 years.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Recent experience obtained within the last 2 years, of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting.
