
Mental Health Support Worker

- Providing 1:1 and small group support to KS3 and KS4 students with SEMH needs
- Building strong, trusting relationships to help students feel valued and supported
- Working with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to implement behaviour plans
- Using restorative and therapeutic approaches to manage challenging behaviours
- Supporting students with complex needs like autism and communication difficulties
- Acting as a mentor, guiding students through emotional and academic challenges
- Experience in pastoral care, behaviour support, or mental health (preferred)
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate effectively
- Strong skills in building positive relationships with vulnerable children
- A genuine passion for inclusion and promoting mental wellbeing
- Someone who stays composed in a crisis and can “read the room”
- An understanding that every behaviour has a story behind it
- A commitment to making a real difference for young people needing another chance
- A DBS on the update service (or be happy to get one through us)
- Two professional references from the last three years
