We are looking for a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker / Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist school in Romford, where your empathy, resilience, and expertise will provide vital support and guidance.In this role, you will create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students facing significant barriers to education.   • Providing 1:1 and small group support to KS3 and KS4 students with SEMH needs
  • Building strong, trusting relationships to help students feel valued and supported
  • Working with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to implement behaviour plans
  • Using restorative and therapeutic approaches to manage challenging behaviours
  • Supporting students with complex needs like autism and communication difficulties
  • Acting as a mentor, guiding students through emotional and academic challenges
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in pastoral care, behaviour support, or mental health (preferred)
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate effectively
  • Strong skills in building positive relationships with vulnerable children
  • A genuine passion for inclusion and promoting mental wellbeing
  • Someone who stays composed in a crisis and can “read the room”
  • An understanding that every behaviour has a story behind it
  • A commitment to making a real difference for young people needing another chance
What you’ll need to join us:
