- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with project requirements.
- Conduct functional, system, and integration testing for LV switchgear and control panels, ensuring they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and document test failures, collaborating with engineering teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Perform routine and non-routine inspections, reviews, and verifications on products and installations as required.
- Document all test results, non-conformances, and relevant observations, ensuring all information is presented accurately and in a timely manner.
- Liaise with design, production, and project delivery teams to ensure tests are conducted efficiently and in line with project timelines.
- Support client Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), providing technical insights and guidance throughout the process.
- Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental procedures within the test environment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, testing methodologies, and regulatory requirements for engineering projects.
- Demonstrable experience in a testing or commissioning role, preferably within the LV switchgear, electrical engineering, control systems, or related sectors.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and applicable regulations (e.g., BS EN 61439, BS7671).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, accurate approach to test execution and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and quality.
- Confident communicator with good verbal and written skills, able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Proficient IT skills, including experience using common office and testing software tools.
- Self-motivated team player who can also work independently with a proactive attitude towards work and safety.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to manage changing priorities and work to tight deadlines where required.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline (e.g., City & Guilds, HNC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in a comparable test or commissioning engineer role within engineering/manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Additional industry training or certification in testing, safety, or quality assurance is advantageous.
