
Transport Manager

- Responsible for the day-to-day people management for direct reports.
- Oversee Transport/Fleet/MHE compliance.
- Support in sharing best compliance practice across the network and site.
- Manage the on-site trade union relationship.
- Support widescale Transport change projects to support design and implementation.
- Work closely with the Head of Transport and Central Planning Team to identify opportunities for further transport optimisation, understanding the balance between service and cost.
- Ensure that the customer is at the centre of every decision-making process.
- Operate within legislation, policy and process in all matters ranging from people management to HSE.
- Remain up-to-date with and understand existing Transport and Fleet legislative requirements and review processes to support operational adherence.
- Strong Transport/Fleet/MHE knowledge and leadership experience within a similar role.
- Previous experience of leading within a unionised logistics operation.
- The ability to lead, engage and inspire others in order to deliver successful results.
- Take a positive approach to successfully leading change.
- Be able to manage and maintain strong collaborative working relationships and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders across a variety of levels.
- Sound knowledge of transport and fleet systems i.e. transport scheduling tools, tachomaster, fleet systems.
- CPC qualification preferred.
