This is a project-focused role where you’ll manage solutions from design to implementation, ensuring smooth handovers to the Operations team. You’ll work on a variety of server technologies, including hardware, operating systems, virtual platforms, backups, and monitoring systems.What you’ll love:
  • Attend project meetings and collaborate with Project Managers, internal teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Design and implement server solutions in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Install and configure server infrastructure, including hardware, operating systems, monitoring, and backup solutions.
  • Ensure all designs and solutions are documented clearly and accurately.
  • Hand over completed solutions to the Operations team for ongoing support.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Asda Technology function.
  • Follow company security policies while designing, installing, and configuring solutions.
  • Manage your workload effectively, ensuring all tasks are completed within deadlines.
What you’ll need:
  • Proven experience supporting Windows, Linux servers, and VMware infrastructure (L3 level).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A logical, methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams.
  • Self-motivated, capable of managing your own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and stay updated with evolving technologies.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in Enterprise Retail IT environments.
  • Familiarity with Azure-hosted server solutions.
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as PowerShell, Ansible and Packer.
  • Microsoft Server, or VMware certifications.
