Part-time Hand Therapist | Advanced Practice Potential | Flexible Working| EllandWe have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, part-time Hand Therapist to join our Physiotherapy department based at Spire Elland.Spire Elland Hospital has been providing high levels of medical treatment and personal care since 1985. Our hospital has a full multi-disciplinary medical team on-site who practice some of the most advanced treatments on the latest generation imaging and diagnostic technology. This means we can offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, general surgery, gynaecology, and cosmetic procedures.Main duties of the jobDuties and responsibilities;
  • To provide a high standard of specialist hand therapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients within the physiotherapy department
  • Potential for development of Advanced Practice role supported by specialist hand and wrist consultant
  • Management of conditions such as Trapeziectomy, Fasciotomy, Tendon repairs, joint replacements
  • Provision of holistic hand therapy care including wound management and provision of custom made splints for hand and wrist pathologies
  • Discuss, agree and explain responsibilities for the therapy assessment of patients, including their needs and any associated risks
  • Using clinical reasoning skills develop treatment plans that are appropriate to the patient taking into consideration their physiotherapy care, risks and wellbeing.

  • HCPC registered
  • At least 5 years post graduate experience
  • Previous extensive experience is essential in specialist hand therapy role (physio or occupational therapist considered)
