Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Bring passion and dedication to your job and there's no telling what you could accomplish. Multifaceted, amazing people and inspiring, innovative technologies are the norm here. The people who work here have reinvented entire industries with all Apple Hardware products. The same passion for innovation that goes into our products also applies to our practices strengthening our commitment to leave the world better than we found it. Join us to help deliver the next groundbreaking Apple product! Do you love working on challenges that no one has solved yet? As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique and rewarding opportunity to craft upcoming products that will delight and inspire millions of Apple's customers every single day. The UK GPU team works on IPs that are part of Apple's world-class GPU designs for Apple Silicon SoCs. We are seeking highly motivated, innovative and confident individuals to join us, across the following areas: RTL Design. RTL Power Optimisation and Physical Design. You will be at the centre of a chip design effort working with all disciplines, with a critical impact on getting high performant products to millions of Apple customers efficiently. Locations: These internships can be based in London Bishopsgate, St Albans or Cambridge. You may express your location preferences if selected for interview. Start dates: Winter 2025 or Spring / Summer 2026. Key Dates: Applications will close by mid-October. Initial interviews will take place in October, with final round interviews in November.DescriptionWe are hiring for the below internships in the academic year 2025/2026. RTL Design: You will assist with delivering high quality IP in order to meet performance, feature, timing, area and power goals. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with Design Engineers, as well as work alongside our platform architecture, functional verification and physical design teams that are responsible for our GPU products. Your designs will need to balance energy efficiency and area constraints with project schedule and maintainability. RTL Power Optimisation: Join us as a Power Intern and play a pivotal role in shaping cutting-edge IP technology. In this dynamic internship, you'll dive deep into the power estimation/optimisation of next-generation silicon designs. Your responsibilities will include analysing and optimising power takedown strategies, setting targets for future IP, and generating insightful power data to drive critical decisions. You'll also have the exciting opportunity to innovate and enhance methodologies for power data extraction and reporting, making meaningful contributions to the efficiency and performance of our products. Collaborate with top-tier engineers, expand your technical expertise, and gain hands-on experience in the fast-evolving world of silicon hardware. Physical Design: As an intern you will join the GPU PD team, working on the physical design of new Apple products and learning how a modern ASIC design flow works. With mentorship, you will work through all the aspects of physical design from the floorplanning of blocks, placement and routing. You will partner with engineers to identify metrics and analyse results, help write scripts to automate flows and help to improve these key metrics. You will utilise the latest technologies and learn from experienced engineers. Partnering with the RTL Design teams will be key to understand chip architecture and how physical design needs to work with these teams to achieve world beating results. Are you a confident problem solver who thrives under pressure to find new, creative solutions? Are you ready to help chart the future of Apple's ecosystem? If so, we are excited to hear from you!Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At the end of the internship, you must return to school to continue your education or the internship must be the last requirement for you to graduate.
  • A curiosity about GPU / CPU architecture and micro-architecture
