We’re working with a specialist setting in Sunderland that supports autistic learners and pupils with complex needs. Their approach is simple but powerful: provide a safe, structured environment where every pupil is valued, understood, and given the tools to succeed.They’re looking for a compassionate, proactive SEND Support Worker to join their team, someone who believes that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and supported on their learning journey.What you’ll be doing:Offering 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and complex learning needsAssisting with communication strategies, sensory activities, and daily routinesSupporting pupils in managing transitions, behaviour, and emotional regulationWorking closely with teachers, therapists, and families to provide consistent supportWhat we’re looking for:Experience working with children or young people with SEND in schools, care, or youth servicesA calm, adaptable approach with strong relationship-building skillsConfidence supporting behaviour and emotional needs (training provided if needed)An understanding of autism or a genuine interest in learning moreWhy this role?
