Job DescriptionWe're working with a beautifully designed, recently opened gastropub in the charming market town of Hitchin. With a strong focus on seasonal British produce and ambitious plans to achieve Rosettes, they're now looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to support their small, skilled kitchen team.You'll be wondering what's in it for you as a Junior Sous Chef…
  • £36,000 per annum plus circa £6,000 service charge
  • Live-in accommodation available for around £600 per month
  • Set days off - Monday and Tuesday
  • Open from Wednesday dinner to Sunday lunch
  • Fresh, seasonal cooking with high-quality ingredients
  • Joining a tight-knit team of 3 in a supportive environment
  • Pushing towards earning prestigious Rosettes
Responsibilities as a Junior Sous Chef…
  • Collaborating with and supporting the team in daily service and prep
  • Assisting with menu development and creative seasonal specials
  • Maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency
  • Taking responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of senior chefs
  • Mentoring junior staff and helping them develop their skills
