Pay Rate: £12.21 per hourAbout the Role:Select Recruitment is currently seeking a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join a dedicated school catering team in Ipswich.This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a positive school environment, supporting the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to students while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, presentation, and serving of food and beverages
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining environment
- Operate kitchen equipment and manage cleaning duties, including washing up
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and school policies
- Support the school cook and the wider catering team as required
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable, though not essential
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to undertake training)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
