Aspire People is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist resource base within a mainstream primary school in North Edgbaston.About the Role:
- Full-time, long-term position starting from 1st September 2025
- Supporting pupils with significant additional needs, including non-verbal communication, Down syndrome, and complex learning difficulties
- Working in a well-established resource base that supports pupils from Reception to Year 6
- Up to 13 pupils in the room at a time, supported in smaller groups for focused learning and interaction
- Delivering and supporting small-group activities, play-based learning, and individual interventions as directed by teaching and SEND staff
- Strong experience supporting children with SEND, especially non-verbal pupils and those with Down syndrome
- Confident using or supporting alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables
- Able to engage children in small group activities and promote inclusion and participation across a wide age range (Reception-Year 6)
- Resilient, nurturing, and calm with a proactive and adaptable approach to changing needs
