Job descriptionTeaching AssistantAre you a qualified or unqualified teacher or teaching assistant looking for a new teaching opportunity in Liverpool? We are seeking talented individuals to place in SEN and Alternative provision schools across Liverpool.Training for unqualified applicants can be provided before being placed in a school.If you have overseas experience as a teacher, you can also apply.Teaching Assistant Requirements:
  • GCSEs (or equivalent): A minimum of five GCSEs at grade C (or equivalent) is often required, including English and mathematics.
  • Level 3 qualification: Some schools may prefer candidates with a Level 3 qualification, such as a BTEC or NVQ in Early Years Education or Childcare.
Teacher Requirements:
  • Qualified Teachers: Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent, QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS ( Qualified Teacher Learning Status)
  • Teaching Assistants: Level 3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent

Experience ( Not mandatory):
  • Previous experience working with children: Experience in childcare, tutoring, or other related fields can be beneficial.
  • Teaching assistant experience: While not always required, experience as a teaching assistant can be advantageous.
Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and teachers is crucial.
  • Patience and empathy: Teaching assistants should be patient and understanding when working with students.

Additional Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS check: A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is usually required to ensure the safety of students.
  • First aid certification: Some schools may require teaching assistants to have first aid certification.
