- To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate experience in one or more of the following areas of crime and regulatory law:-
- Professional discipline, experience of healthcare regulation is an advantage
- Police disciplinary investigations
- Health, safety, environmental and licencing
- Ofsted and CQC registration and enforcement
- Business crime and criminal investigations involving regulated professionals
- Inquests and public inquiries
- Manage and develop relationships with internal Markel stakeholders.
- Demonstrate an understanding of legal expense insurance and liability insurance funded matters
- Be able to manage their own busy case load - including recommending reserves and setting strategies.
- Deliver billing and other key performance indicators.
- Be able to establish, develop and maintain corporate and individual client relationships - both internally and externally.
- Be able to supervise junior staff on smaller files and delegate tasks to junior colleagues / administrative support staff where necessary and appropriate.
- Work within an established team of 7 lawyers, 2 paralegals, a trainee solicitor and administrative support.
- Provide both contentious and non-contentious legal advice representing businesses and individuals in an insured and uninsured capacity
- Be able to consider and advise upon insurance policy coverage issues where necessary.
