
Court of Protection Solicitor 2-4 PQE - Bristol - Hybrid

- Manage routine property & financial affairs deputyship applications
- Liaise with clients, gather capacity evidence, and draft COP forms
- Support senior fee earners on complex health & welfare matters (e.g. residence or care disputes)
- Act for professional deputies in day-to-day financial management (e.g. property sales, budgeting, liaising with banks and benefits agencies)
- Draft witness statements, position statements, and best interest arguments for court
- Assist with statutory will applications, small gifts, and investigations into financial abuse
- Maintain regular contact with clients, families, social workers, and the Office of the Public Guardian
- Stay up to date with case law and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
- Begin supervising junior Paralegals and supporting their development
- 2-4 years PQE with demonstrable experience in Court of Protection work
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- Empathy, discretion, and a client-focused approach
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support team growth
- A solid understanding of the Professional Deputyship Standards, Mental Capacity Act (and its Code of Practice) and the Court of Protection Practice Directions is desired.
