The company's work spans aircraft propulsion, equipment, and interiors - all aligned with a core mission: to contribute to a safer, more sustainable world by making air transport more environmentally friendly, comfortable, and accessible.The CNC Grinder Role:We are seeking an experienced CNC Grinder to join our precision engineering team, supporting the manufacture and repair of aerospace components. This is a hands-on, high-precision role requiring a background in surface or cylindrical grinding within a quality-focused environment.CNC Grinder Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC grinding machines for high-precision aerospace components
- Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Perform surface, cylindrical, and form grinding on a variety of materials
- Conduct in-process inspection using micrometers, bore gauges, and comparators
- Adhere to tight tolerances and ensure parts meet strict quality standards
- Maintain accurate production records and route cards
- Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives on the shop floor
- Follow safety protocols and work within ISO 9001 / AS9100 compliance frameworks
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC or precision grinder
- Experience with both CNC and manual grinding machines (Studer, Jones & Shipman, etc.)
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and self-inspection
- Comfortable handling small and medium-sized components (lifting aids available)
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a production team
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and repeatability
