Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service and creating memorable experiences for visitors?Barnsley Museums is looking for two Visitor Services Assistant to join our award-winning team. You'll help welcome and support visitors at our fantastic venues:
  • Cannon Hall Museum, Park & Gardens
  • Cooper Gallery
  • Elsecar Heritage Centre
  • Experience Barnsley
  • Worsbrough Mill
What you'll do:No two days are the same! Your role will include:
  • Opening and closing historic buildings
  • Greeting visitors and leading tours
  • Supporting volunteers
  • Caring for collections
  • Helping keep our sites clean and welcoming
  • Selling souvenirs and craft items in our shops
Last year, we welcomed over two million visitors-our venues are cherished parts of the community, and we're proud of the experience we offer.About the roles:
  • These roles will be based at Elsecar Heritage Centre (permanent post) and at Worsbrough Mill & Country Park (temporary post until 31 March 2026) though you will be asked to work at other sites as needed
  • Weekend work is a regular part of the role, and you will work on a rota basis where you can work any 5 in 7 days
