We're looking for an industry-leading, customer-focused Station Manager to join Team Euston!This role sits within the West Coast South route of our North West and Central region and is accountable for Euston Station, where you'll be based five days a week.Euston is at the forefront of industry collaboration, having recently launched Team Euston - a partnership with our industry colleagues to deliver exceptional customer experiences and seamless station operations. Inclusion means creating safe, welcoming workplaces where people can thrive and fresh ideas flourish.Brief DescriptionAs Station Manager, you'll lead all aspects of the station's operation - from safety and compliance to contractual agreements, finances, and revenue generation. You'll act as the ambassador for passengers within Network Rail, guiding the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences in close collaboration with Train Operating Companies and station stakeholders.Reporting to the Head of Stations and Passenger Experience, you'll ensure the smooth, safe, and secure day-to-day running of Euston, while driving forward exceptional service and continuous improvement.Please be aware this role holds a mandatory requirement for the incumbent to hold valid security vetting clearance. Key ResponsibilitiesAs Station Manager, you'll:
  • Put passengers first - ensuring they have the best possible experience at Euston.
  • Support and develop your people - building a confident, capable, and customer-focused team.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders - including train operators, retailers, local authorities, and the wider business community - to drive improvements and deliver outstanding service.
  • Lead the station's finances - ensuring efficient, value-for-money operations that support long-term sustainability.
  • Manage risk effectively - ensuring the safety of people, assets, and partners through a well-run, resilient operation.
The Role in Action
  • Develop and deliver the station safety, security, and incident response plans in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and audit station activities to identify risks and implement effective controls.
  • Meet budgetary targets while protecting company assets and reputation, managing OPEX budgets and expenditure with train operating companies.
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders and construction projects to maintain safe and effective operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all industry standards, including the national railway security programme, national operating procedures, and the Rule Book.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders - from government officials to VIPs - while shaping asset management strategies that improve income, enhance retail offerings, and elevate the overall passenger experience.
Essential· Successful experience in leadership and development of people in a customer focused environment· Extensive experience in managing teams to deliver excellent customer/passenger service· Proven track record in developing people and teams, including dealing with Employee Relations issues· Successful experience of delivering customer service in a complex operational environment· Able to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communications skills with ability to communicate effectively across varied internal and external stakeholders· Experience of delivering communications in support of excellent passenger services· Demonstrable experience in the management of financial systems, budgetary tools and undertaking contract management in a complex commercial environment.· Thorough knowledge / understanding of station regulatory frameworks· Comprehensive knowledge of Managed Station operations, processes and procedures· Proven track record in managing passenger flows in a complex operational environment· Sound knowledge of corporate governance e.g. procurement rules· Ability to attain Station Incident Officer (SIO)· Ability to gain appropriate assessor and verifier competence· Ability to attain Station Management CompetenceHow to apply (External)£55,596 - £65,966 Band 3CClosing date: Thursday 4th September - Late applications will not be accepted.Click apply now to apply.You can visit for advice on accessibility support if you're unsure of the options available.
