- The strategic design lead within your squad, responsible for representing patient voices and aligning experience design with Numan's clinical and commercial objectives.
- Planning and conducting both qualitative and quantitative research to uncover deep insights into patient behaviours, needs, and motivations.
- Translating patient insights into experience strategies and product opportunities that support long-term behaviour change and improved outcomes.
- Facilitating collaborative workshops and ideation sessions to shape product direction with input from cross-functional teams.
- Driving design initiatives from discovery to delivery, including research synthesis, concept development, prototyping, and user validation.
- Partnering closely with product managers, engineers, clinicians, and data analysts to co-define roadmaps and prioritise initiatives.
- Advocating for a collaborative, inclusive design process that balances patient needs with clinical safety, technical feasibility, and commercial impact.
- Defining and iterating on success metrics through behavioural insights, clinical data, and business outcomes.
- Collaborating beyond the product team, including marketing, content and clinical operations, to ensure a seamless and consistent experience across the full patient journey.
- Strong core design capabilities and can deliver high-quality experiences with attention to detail, especially where design impacts patient comprehension, safety, and trust.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate design rationale to a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical, regulatory, commercial, and engineering teams.
- Deep empathy for patients and the ability to represent their needs, fears, and goals throughout the product development process.
- Experience shaping product direction through early involvement in discovery, goal setting, and surfacing of user insights.
- Confidence working autonomously across complex product areas and delivering end-to-end design solutions that align with regulatory, clinical, and commercial goals.
- A solid understanding of the healthcare context, including regulated care pathways, behavioural coaching, and subscription-based services.
- A proven ability to influence and lead design initiatives within a cross-functional environment, particularly in fast-paced, start-up, scale-up, or agency settings.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of working closely with product managers, clinicians, engineers, and other designers to balance patient needs with technical and business constraints.
- A user-centred, data-informed approach to design that helps define, track and iterate against business and health outcome metrics.
- Experience conducting mixed-method research in healthcare, balancing usability, behavioural science, and ethical standards.
- Confidence working with product metrics and clinical outcomes data to drive design decisions.
- Experience designing content-heavy, regulated or compliance-sensitive user journeys.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and inclusive design practices in healthcare.
- An interest or background in behavioural science, such as health psychology, motivation and habit formation.
- Service design skills across physical, digital, and operational aspects of care delivery.
- Experience or interest in AI-assisted user experiences, personalisation, and visualising longitudinal health data.
