Clerk of WorksOverview:We are partnering with a leading construction consultancy to appoint a Clerk of Works. This key role is responsible for monitoring construction activities to ensure that all materials and workmanship comply with design specifications, contract documents, and industry standards. Acting as the client's on-site representative, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding construction quality and delivery.Key Responsibilities:Review and interpret contract drawings, specifications, project schedules, and bills of quantitiesUnderstand and monitor compliance with the project's Health & Safety Plan, British Standards, and Approved Codes of PracticeInspect construction works on-site to ensure they meet specified quality and design standardsMaintain accurate, detailed reports and records of on-site activities and findingsLiaise effectively with the Employer's Agent, architect, quantity surveyor, and contractor's site managementAdvise on construction materials, techniques, and samples when requiredEnsure appropriate use of site documentation and report discrepancies promptlyAssist the project team in identifying and resolving technical or quality issuesProvide fair, professional assessments of site progress, risks, and overall complianceKey Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills:Deep understanding of construction methods, building regulations, and materialsProficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentsStrong reporting and documentation skillsKnowledge of CDM Regulations, British Standards, and best practices in constructionProfessional Competencies:Excellent planning and time-management skillsHigh attention to detail and methodical working styleStrong judgement and analytical problem-solving abilityEffective communicator and confident negotiatorProven track record of building productive relationships with contractors and consultantsCommitted, enthusiastic, and professional with a strong work ethicQualifications & Experience:
