- The base location for this role is Newcastle Upon Tyne. Ideally, you'll live within one hour travel of this location
- Lead and mentor the IT&BC Project Management team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement and taking on the line management responsibility of that team
- Spearhead the adoption and integration of PMP methodology into the teams way of working
- Manage and deliver complex, high-impact projects from initiation through to closure, ensuring alignment with business goals
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria
- Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks to ensure consistent project execution
- Monitor and report on project performance, risks, and issues, providing strategic recommendations and insight
- Drive resource planning and allocation across the PM team to optimise delivery capacity
- Champion change management and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices - seeking to fill any gaps that are found
- Contribute to strategic planning and portfolio management within the IT&BC function including collaborating on and developing the departments strategic plan
- Outcome focused and able to apply practical thinking and theory to solve problems and take opportunities

- Can demonstrate self-learning and have a genuine passion for professional development of themselves and their team
- Have achieved the Project Management Professional (PMP) qualification and understand how to effectively apply its principles in a working environment
- Experience of building and leading a team of project management professionals with direct line management responsibility. A leader with a proven track record in people management and people development
- The ability to work proactively and independently - showing initiative, staying motivated and keeping projects moving forward even when faced with challenges
- Experience of delivering IT projects using practical examples to describe challenges and successes
- Experience of working in agile, product backlog environments and traditional project delivery methodologies and ability to demonstrate an understanding of the differences and pros and cons of these approaches
- Have experience of influencing cross functionally and to Director Level
- Can demonstrate commerciality
