- Professional electronics knowledge acquired through HND in electronics, medical engineering or equivalent with additional practical knowledge gained through technical training, short courses and developed practical experience.
- Degree level qualification in either Medical device maintenance or electrical and electronic engineering Physiology training to cover a range of equipment. VRCT Membership
- Analysis and diagnosing of faults in complex Electronic/Mechanical equipment.
- Experience of safe operating systems used in the maintenance and repair of complex electronic equipment.
- Self-management-workload planning-routine maintenance, prioritising breakdown maintenance.
- Medical device calibration and maintenance
- Evidence of regular training courses to further skills and experience
- Experience of Medical device calibration and maintenance
- Effective verbal and written communication with colleagues at all levels of the organisation and with external agencies and industry..
- Highly developed skills:-manual dexterity, co-ordination and sensory skills for use of precision tools & materials in the maintaining of delicate equipment.
- Quality systems and database management
- Ability to work in awkward positions and unpleasant environments e.g. plant rooms, behind patient bed heads and within theatre environments
- Knowledge and understanding of Health Service issues
- Experience of working within the scope of MHRA Managing Medical Devices (April 2015)
- Medical Device and Equipment Management for Hospital and Community based Organisations
- Working within an ISO 9001:2015 Quality system environment
- Evaluation of medical devices-acceptance testing.
- Ability to travel as required
