We have an exciting opportunity for a NOC Engineer to support our growing business.Job title: NOC 24 x 7 EngineerJob Description:The Capita SPEN Network Operations Centre (NOC) is looking for an experienced IT/Network Engineer to supplement an existing support team. The successful candidate will be a member of a 24/7 Shift Team, responsible for efficiently and effectively resolving networking incidents and problems, maintaining client satisfaction whilst complying with Capita Network Services policies, procedures, and best practices. You will be working alongside both Network Engineering and Service Delivery Teams to deliver best in class service across a critical client base. The ideal candidate will need to be able to provide technical support as well as delivering excellent customer service.This role is based in Kirkintilloch, Scotland. You will be required to work a rotating shift covering days and nights.The Role & Responsibilities:This is a Key Customer facing role, providing professional expertise on the day-to-day management of the SPEN strategic network. You will be required to troubleshoot and resolve issues, liaise with Scottish Power staff and external suppliers to deliver all within SLA timescales.You will have the ability to effectively operate and integrate in a customer environment showing strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of enthusiasmYou will:Responding to alerts, diagnosing and resolving issues, in the SPEN strategic networkCollaborating with other teams to maintain and improve network operationsImplement corrective actions to ensure optimal network performanceProvide remote support to Field Engineers working on live incidentsAbility to prioritise network alarms and incidents to fulfil KPI/SLA commitmentLiaise between internal departments, 3rd party suppliers and the Customer within agreed SLA’sComplete network reports and analysis when requiredEnsure Governance of processes within the NOC environment.Help drive improvement initiatives to conclusion within agreed timescalesWork well within our NOC team and can work shift patternWhat we need from you.Capable of working on PDH, SDH & IP environment, ensuring their proper functioning and integration within the broader network.Experienced in use of System Management Platforms (Ex: CNMS, Nokia N-FMP, CISCO Prime)Structured approach to delivery governance on complex networksUnderstanding of network management and use of Network Management Platform tools.Must be PC literate and competent with Word/Excel/Visio/ MS ProjectTrack record of successfully prioritising simultaneous activities within SLAA Self-motivating individual with the ability to develop strong customer relationships as well as functioning in a team environmentStrong interpersonal negotiating and communication skillsAbility to manage complex customer interfacesPlanning and managing of risk in a support environmentAbility to produce reports and manage “special investigations”Proven track record in complex deliveryKnowledge of high voltage substation environment 33kv-400kvAbout us: Capita Public Service – LPSOur world class Local Government Services team supports local councils to improve outcomes and focus on what matters in their communities.
