
Melanoma Clinical Nurse Specialist

- NMC Level 1 Registered Nurse
- Educated to Degree level supplemented by post graduate diploma
- Advanced communication
- Specialist training or short courses in further specialist training to masters equivalent (site/cancer specific module at level7) or eqivivulent workplace experience.
- SACT qualification
- Level 2 psychological skills and/or sage and thyme training
- Practice supervisor/ assessor Training
- Qualification in Cancer Care (Post Grad Cert/Dip)
- Extensive clinical experience pertinent to cancer care, oncology and/or palliative care
- Experience to work independently and as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team
- Experience of managing caseload of patients
- Experience of service development
- Awareness of government led and professional issues relating to nursing / patient care
- Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
- Ability to identify patient and staff issues and proactive in addressing of these
- Demonstrate an awareness of clinical governance and risk management and how this effects their role and the department
