This is an exciting opportunity to work in partnership with members of the multidisciplinary Melanoma Team in providing quality specialist care This will involve supporting the cancer pathway at diagnosis and delivering personalised care. A key element of the role is knowledge re immune checkpoint inhibitors the disease and a passion to make a difference for our patients and their families.The post holder will develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care and be named key worker for this cohort of patients. They will act as a lead specialist and will demonstrate expertise within the Melanoma service, providing specialist advice, education and support to patients, their carers/relatives and health care professionals. The post holder will actively undertake clinical audits and support research within this specialist area.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for contributing to the on-going development of clinical practice, research and standards of care within the service, including development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues, to include the undertaking of Peer Review.To ensure and promote safety and well-being of service users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person-centred care principles.   • NMC Level 1 Registered Nurse
  • Educated to Degree level supplemented by post graduate diploma
  • Advanced communication
  • Specialist training or short courses in further specialist training to masters equivalent (site/cancer specific module at level7) or eqivivulent workplace experience.
Desirable
  • SACT qualification
  • Level 2 psychological skills and/or sage and thyme training
  • Practice supervisor/ assessor Training
  • Qualification in Cancer Care (Post Grad Cert/Dip)

  • Extensive clinical experience pertinent to cancer care, oncology and/or palliative care
  • Experience to work independently and as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • Experience of managing caseload of patients
