- assist underwriting and execution of private credit transactions, monitor portfolio of existing issuers, and develop and train junior resources within the team
- analyze investment opportunities by conducting due diligence, including review of business strategy, management team, competitive analysis, product/market strategy, market share analysis, margins, and building/evaluation of financial models to include projections of income statement, cash flows, balance sheet, etc. to stress test scenarios and debt servicing ability
- produce internal credit memos and analysis and present findings to senior PCO team members and the PCO investment committee
- assist PCO efforts to negotiate the credit agreement with the borrower and legal counsel, under the guidance of the origination team
- in conjunction with underwriting/structuring team, liaise between internal teams with regards to financing arrangements, f/x hedging, tax, risk, investment guideline monitoring and related areas to execute transactions
- stay well-informed of market trends and activity within the private credit and equity markets
- conduct quarterly meetings or calls with all portfolio investment management teams / sponsors
- provide investment committee with updates regarding portfolio companies, including changes in the credit profile, amendment impairments, material valuation changes and any new money opportunities
- liaise frequently with public-side sector coverage analysts to develop investment ideas and keep up to date with relevant sectoral themes and trends
- develop dialog with financial sponsors on portfolio company assets and new investment opportunities
- ideally 4-6 years of experience in corporate/leveraged finance and/or private credit/direct lending
- very good Finance & Accounting skills
- in-depth knowledge of credit products and broader financial markets
- investment banking and credit investment experience preferred
- solid quantitative and analytical skills
- ability to produce high quality work under pressure and tight deadlines
- good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- proactive self-starter who has a keen eye for the details
- ability to work well as part of a global team, team player with a flexible approach
