Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term
Pay: From £90 per day (PAYE - no umbrella deductions)Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning? Long Term Futures is working in partnership with a trust of specialist SEMH schools in central Birmingham to recruit experienced and resilient Teaching Assistants. These schools support students aged 11-16 who have social, emotional, and behavioural needs, many of whom require 1:1 support to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience of working with challenging behaviours who is committed to making a meaningful difference in a supportive, structured environment.Your RoleProvide consistent 1:1 support for students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with learningUse de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe, calm environmentBuild trust and strong relationships to encourage confidence, resilience, and personal growthSupport pupils with social and emotional development through tailored activities and mentoringWork closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies to deliver joined-up supportWhat We're Looking ForPrevious experience supporting young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour - essentialA calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing difficult situationsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quicklyConfidence in supporting students who may display high levels of anxiety or emotional dysregulationA Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is an advantage, but experience and the right attitude are what really matterBenefits of Working with Long Term FuturesWeekly pay through PAYE - no umbrella deductionsExclusive access to long-term roles across a network of SEMH and alternative provision schoolsFree training and CPD opportunities focused on behaviour management and SENDedicated consultant who understands SEMH settings and will support you throughout your placementClear pathways to permanent employment for the right candidatesApply Today
