Escape Recruitment's client in Dunfermline is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and supporting electrical/control systems, covering everything from new designs to maintaining existing systems.Key Responsibilities
Review customer technical requirements.
Create and maintain drawings, specifications, , test procedures, and technical documentation.
Program and configure Siemens PLCs to meet project needs.
Develop and test new designs and prototypes.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in design, programming, and commissioning.
Conduct hazard/risk assessments and system testing to ensure reliability.
Work closely with mechanical and project engineers to integrate control systems.
Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies in control systems and automation.
Skills & Experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (equivalent experience also considered).
Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming and configuration.
Experience creating electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault finding, and circuit diagrams.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
Understanding of industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL, ISO) and safety protocols.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Desirable Skills
Experience with motion control systems and drives.
Familiarity with hydro-mechanical systems.
Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., PROFIBUS, MODBUS).
Hands-on experience in commissioning and site support.
