Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist provision in the Okehampton area to recruit a dedicated SEND Media/IT Teacher to join their supportive team.About the School:This specialist provision supports children and young people aged 5–16 with a wide range of needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and other additional learning difficulties. The school is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. With small class sizes, a strong pastoral focus, and access to therapeutic support, the school ensures pupils receive personalised teaching and guidance to achieve their full potential.The Role:
- Full-time, long-term position with an immediate start.
- Deliver engaging Media and IT lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with a range of SEND.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment.
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of students, supporting both academic and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in Media and/or IT.
- Experience of working with students with SEND is desirable, but not essential – a willingness to learn and adapt is key.
- Excellent communication, patience, and a nurturing approach.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
