The minimum educational qualifications required are 2 GCSE's at grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent e.g. NVQ Level 2 or Level 2 certificate.We are seeking to appoint a flexible team player who is prepared to support the class teacher, other colleagues and children. You will need to be well motivated, tenacious and be confident enough to use your own initiative when the need arises. In addition, you must have a firm but fair manner and a genuine desire to support the individual development of the children with whom you work. You will be expected to uphold all the school's policies and procedures, paying particular attention to the positive behaviour and reward strategies. Experience of working with children with special educational needs, including those with complex communication & interaction needs is desirable. A willingness and ability to follow the direction of the Teacher in Charge and other senior staff and to follow particular programmes for individual children would be an essential requirement.Applicants must have:v Relevant experience working with school-age childrenv Excellent communication skills - both written and oralv The ability to use basic technology to support teaching & learningv A minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Maths, or equivalent or a willingness to gain these during the period of employmentv Willingness to undertake training related to the role, including first aid trainingv A positive attitude and a desire to work as a member of a team.This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to join our dedicated team.
