- Building and driving mutually beneficial strategic relationships with our vendor partners
- Act as a resource to the department as a vendor expert and solution delivery
- Build relationships with key customers and assist with large opportunities/ tenders inc. quotes
- Responsibility for profitability across the vendor portfolio.
- Developing and facilitating profitable partnerships and strategic management of vendor relationships.
- Involvement in External meetings with customers and their Account Managers with a real focus on understanding our breadth of customers, what drives them, increasing market share and finding opportunities.
- Developing vendor and market segmentation business plans to present to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding and implementation of vendors' key initiatives across the business.
- Utilising the tools to generate reporting and being able to analyse the data to develop the business ie. driving new sales opportunities across our customer base.
- Strong commercial understanding including negotiation of terms and conditions, rebate structure, buy-in and deals.
- Work closely with the Vendor Operations Manager to determine parameters for inventory stocking strategy, return of product, forecasting, payment decisions, Excess & Obsolete inventory management and priority allocation.
- Business planning, present to stakeholders and attend quarterly business reviews
- Minimum of 3 years functional experience in a Commercial role with P&L responsibility
- Experience in Components and IT Peripherals preferrable
- Strong Commercial acumen is a must
- Effective communication skills and proven success working with cross-functional teams, with the ability to build credible stakeholder relationships and engagement
- Results driven, customer focused, accurate and analytical
- Able to plan and implement business plans to achieve key objectives
- Problem solver or being able to propose solutions to issues which may be complexed.
- Strong Excel/MS Office skills, financial/numeric skills to work with pricing, stock/inventory management and reporting.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data
- Experience working with CRM applications
