- Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, guidance, and best practice in conjunction with the relevant Managers, Technical Authorities and business process owners.
- Providing general support and advice to the onshore and offshore teams ensuring activities comply with relevant legislation, best practice, and/or industry guidelines.
- Supporting the development and oversight of regulatory submissions and reporting i.e. providing guidance on reportability of incidents to relevant regulatory bodies.
- Ensuring all HSE standards are adhered to as per UK Relevant Statutory Provisions and recognised industry guidelines.
- Interfacing with regulatory bodies as part of inspections, investigations, or formal enforcement action. Facilitate regulatory inspections (where required).
- Travelling to offshore locations to conduct investigations, training, audits and accompany regulatory inspections as required.
- Conducting on-site inspections, ensuring safety standards are met and being managed consistently.
- Supporting the emergency response arrangements and participate in exercises.
- Ensuring the effectiveness of the company business management system and managing the legal register ensuring the appropriate departments are aware of any legislative changes.
- Supporting corporate objectives, rollouts etc. across the business.
- Possesses a relevant university degree or relevant HSE qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH) etc.
- Relevant supporting technical/industry qualifications.
- Comprehensive understanding, strong working knowledge of and experience in implementing and complying with HSE related legislation (on and offshore), corporate, national and international standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience in incident investigation using COMET/TOPSET/Tripod methodologies or similar.
- Strong facilitator of improvement and change management.
- Appreciation of Human Factors and Major Accident Hazards.
- Offshore medical and survival/ MIST training certificates are necessary. Offshore visits as required.
