Do you have experience helping children in Key Stage 1 thrive both academically and emotionally?A welcoming primary school in Spotland, Rochdale is seeking a dedicated KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This role will involve providing 1:1 and small group support to children in KS1 with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language delays, and social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.Key Responsibilities:-Supporting children in KS1 on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, adapting learning to their individual needs-Helping children with emotional regulation, social skills and engagement in lessons-Delivering interventions linked to EHCP targets under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher-Encouraging positive behaviour and providing a calm, nurturing environment-Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support consistent progressWhat We're Looking For:-Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a KS1 setting-A calm, empathetic and nurturing approach with resilience to support challenging moments-Confidence in behaviour management and supporting children with additional needs such as Autism and ADHD-A strong team player with the ability to also work independently when needed-Commitment to inclusion and to helping children reach their full potentialWhat the School Offers:-Supportive staff team and SEN leadership-Access to specialist SEN training and ongoing CPD-A warm, community-focused school with a strong ethos of inclusion-An opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of children in Key Stage 1If you're passionate about supporting children with additional needs in KS1 and want to play a key role in their learning journey, apply today to join this supportive Spotland school from September.This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2024) guidance and safer recruitment standards.
