If so, we want to hear from you today!Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Employer Engagement Tutor to start in September 2025 based at one of our SEND settings in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with both pupils and Employers to promote outstanding outcomes for young people and have a long-term impact on their lives, progress and development.About the Role:
  • To generate links with local employers that result in placement opportunities for learners aged 16-18.
  • To be a point of contact, advice, information and support for employers, enabling and supporting them to be able to offer placement opportunities.
  • To contribute to the assessment of individual learners and match them to appropriate placements.
  • To support learners in preparing for an employer placement. This will include ensuring that they have the appropriate skills and attitude to gain maximum benefit from the placement and ensuring that they have the clothing and equipment necessary for each placement.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
  • A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
  • Experience of developing/contributing to learning programmes for young people (preferably this would include the design and delivery of employability programmes)
  • Experience of conducting assessments with learners (including literacy\numeracy)
  • Able to establish positive relationships with young people, external agencies (including employers) and colleagues
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references that cover the last two years

  • The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Newcastle.
  • The School supports pupils aged 16-18 with varying levels of SEMH who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream School.
  • The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, Hours and Contract:
  • Pay - Between £120-150 per day
  • Hours - 08.30-16.00. Full-time
  • Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.
