
Technology and PE Technician

- Prepare and organise materials and equipment to precise specifications, ensuring readiness for practical lessons.
- Provide in-class support during practical and demonstration sessions.
- Maintain and oversee specialised teaching areas, preparation rooms, and storerooms.
- Arrange maintenance and repair of tools, machines, and work surfaces as required.
- Manage the safe storage, handling, and control of all chemicals, flammable materials, and specialist substances, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and other relevant regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date safety signage and accurate records of all equipment safety checks.
- Support design and technology tasks as requested, including potential use of CAD/CAM tools if trained.
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of sports and PE equipment for lessons and extracurricular activities.
- Support PE staff in setting up and packing away for indoor and outdoor activities.
- Help monitor and maintain sports equipment and storage facilities.
- Assist with communication of PE department updates and events, potentially contributing to newsletters or social media.
- Good general academic background, including GCSEs or equivalent in English, Mathematics and/or ICT.
- Confident ICT skills for administrative tasks and digital communication.
- Ability to work independently in a methodical, organised manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- Discretion and sensitivity when handling confidential information.
- Previous experience in an educational setting or technical support role.
- Understanding of Health & Safety procedures, COSHH regulations, and relevant school policies.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM or design/technology-based tools and software.
- Experience supporting a range of sports or physical activities.
- Full DATA Health & Safety Accreditation or Machine Safety Certification.
- Full-time equivalent: £24,404 – £24,790 per annum
- Actual salary (24 hours/week, term-time only): £13,904.01 – £14,123.93
