- Provide day-to-day leadership to a team of Inside Sales Representatives, setting clear expectations and fostering a high-performance culture. Develop individual capability through coaching, mentoring, training, and regular feedback. Model Genus ABS values and create a supportive, engaged team environment aligned with strategic objectives.
- Management of 3 product lines within Genus which include a small team of employees. Responsibility of P&L, sales tracking and further development.
- Lead the professional transition of customer accounts from field sales to the inside sales team, ensuring continuity, confidence, and relationship depth. Maintain regular contact with customers to resolve queries, build trust, and deliver an exceptional service experience.
- Design and implement a fit-for-purpose inside sales strategy aligned to UK commercial priorities, ensuring robust workflows, segmentation, and contact plans that optimise reach, revenue, and service quality. Embed commercial discipline by promoting awareness of total customer profitability – factoring in pricing governance, order economics, delivery charges, and share of wallet. Foster a growth-focused, data-informed culture that prioritises sustainable revenue, positions inside sales as a proactive commercial driver, and supports long-term customer value.
- Maximise customer value by understanding needs, tailoring solutions, and identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities. Maintain deep product knowledge to deliver personalised recommendations that support customer goals and long-term loyalty.
- Maintain visibility of sales performance and customer activity using current tools, while preparing the team for future CRM implementation. Collaborate with stakeholders to shape reporting structures and processes that support business intelligence and commercial insight.
- Work closely with field sales, marketing, technical, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and effective campaign execution. Share customer insights to inform continuous improvement, product development, and commercial planning
- Use KPIs and data insights to monitor team activity, conversion, retention, and pipeline health. Identify trends, highlight risks, and lead performance interventions to maintain strong commercial delivery.
- Champion a customer-first approach, ensuring interactions are professional, empathetic, and solution-focused. Address customer complaints swiftly and constructively, ensuring service recovery and satisfaction.
- Continuously improve inside sales tools, scripts, and processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and scalability. Stay informed on industry best practices and explore innovations that could strengthen performance.
- Travel within the UK will be required.
- Master Degree in agricultural, zootechnical or genetic sectors
- Previous experience of people management to ensure coaching and development of team
- Effective time management, organisation and prioritisation skills
- Previous sales experience essential, preferably within an agricultural business
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels
- The ability to work under their own initiative
