Head Waiter, Hyde Park GardenFixed Term Contract (April - October)42 hours, 4 days per weekWe're looking for a Head Waiter to join our iconic Hyde Park Garden team for the summer season 2024.We can consider applicants for either a fixed term contract over the summer (ideally April to end of October) or a permanent contract with an opportunity to move into another department within Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London after the Hyde Park Garden closes.Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is London's most iconic address. A world that's all about our guests.As a Head Waiter at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, you will be responsible for:
  • Ensure the restaurant is always immaculately presented
  • Inspire, motivate and supervise the waiters working with you
  • Take orders and serve food and drinks
  • Be fully knowledgeable about the menu and make recommendations to our guest
  • Take payments and complete billing procedures
  • Deliver exceptional and iconic service to guests, upholding the standards of Mandarin Oriental.
As a Head Waiter, you will be working on a rotating shift basis, Monday to Sunday, 42 hours a week. Shift patterns will vary from morning to evening shifts (including weekends and bank holidays). Hyde Park Garden is an outdoor restaurant and therefore opening hours are subject to weather conditions. Successful candidates will therefore have the opportunity to work in other departments at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London when weather conditions do not allow the Hyde Park Garden to operate, so flexibility is required where applicable.To be a successful Head Waiter candidate, you will have great fluency in English and previous experience as a Head Waiter in a high-quality establishment.In return, you will receive an array of iconic benefits, such as:
