Salary: £34,727-£50,093 full-time equivalent, dependent on experience.Permanent, either full time or part time. 0.7FTE - 1FTE (please state in your application the hours you are applying for)The Grammar School at Leeds is seeking a talented and inspirational Teacher of German to join this successful department from January 2026 on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have strong classroom management skills and will be able to teach German at all levels. The ability to teach a second language at KS3 would be desirable. This role is either part time from 0.7FTE up to full time 1FTE, please state in your application the hours you are applying for.Our vibrant and dynamic languages faculty is made up of the French, German, Spanish and Classics departments and has an impressive record at GCSE, A level and entry into highly competitive universities, with a number of students each year proceeding to language degrees. French and Spanish are currently taught to all students in our Primary School. From Year 7, students take Classical Civilisation, German, Spanish and French. In Year 8 pupils continue with Latin and choose two modern languages which they continue to study in Year 9. In Year 10 all students study at least one Modern Language at GCSE and some choose to do two. All three languages, Latin and Classics are offered at A-level, and numbers are healthy.The successful candidate will join a reflective and collaborative department. Strong classroom management skills are essential and the successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in this busy department and its super-curricular programme including trips and visits.
