
Drug & Alcohol Family Safeguarding Worker

Duration: 6-12 months minimumKey responsibilities:
- Deliver 1-to-1 and group support to help parents engage with treatment and recovery services
- Provide person-centred care using proven psychosocial interventions, including Motivational Interviewing, Brief Interventions, and Harm Reduction strategies
- Conduct triage and comprehensive substance misuse assessments, including risk evaluations and tailored care plans
- Promote and deliver harm reduction initiatives such as alcohol screening, BBV awareness, and Dry Blood Spot Testing
- Develop collaborative recovery plans with service users, drawing on the full range of support available across the Family Safeguarding Service and i-access
- Empower and support volunteers, peer mentors, and service user representatives to be actively involved
- Identify safeguarding concerns and take prompt action in line with local safeguarding procedures
- Experience working with children and families impacted by substance misuse
- A strong understanding of substance misuse services and a genuine desire to make a difference
- A full UK driving licence
- An Enhanced DBS for working with both Adults and Children
