- Providing guidance, responding to escalations and where needed, directly onboarding TerraPay clients, carrying out full screening and risk assessments, ensuring that TerraPay’s customer due diligence requirements are met in full.
- Performing quality assurance testing on the Bangalore compliance team, and completing post testing reporting, training, and remediation plans.
- Working directly with the business development managers / relationship managers to ensure new clients are within TerraPay’s risk appetite and comply with TerraPay UK and global AML policies.
- Performing enhanced deep dive customer risk assessments and producing comprehensive reports for the UK MLRO to assist with high-risk customer decisioning.
- Working on creating procedure guides and manuals for the onboarding of clients from new business verticals, such as travel operators, payroll providers, technical service providers.
- Delivering training to the Compliance Operations team based in Bangalore to transition new processes over to the team, providing support to them during the transition.
- Managing ongoing due diligence reviews on existing customers to ensure that TerraPay’s customer due diligence information is up-to-date, and that the customer/partner is conducting activity in line with onboarding expectations.
- Handling escalations from the Compliance Operations teams in Bangalore and investigating the concerns against the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing presented, suggesting mitigating actions where required.
- Ensure suspicious activity reports (SARs) are filed promptly with the NCA
- Staying up-to-date with regulatory developments affecting the business, and maintaining a working knowledge of MLRs 2017 and PSD2.
- Experience of correspondent banking relationships is preferred.
- Payments experience, specially in money remittance, or alternative payment methods is preferred.
- Experience/knowledge of issuing + acquiring is also preferred, including knowledge of Visa/Mastercard scheme rules.
- Preferably experience in performing EDD assessments on high-risk and complex clients.
- 5+ years of experience in financial crime (KYC, CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, quality assurance testing, SAR reporting).
- ICA, ACAMS or equivalent AML certifications would be advantageous.
