Job Description:GRADE 11 - £62,748 - £69,579 per annum plus a market supplement of up to 15% for the right candidate.Times are tough financially for Local Government and London Borough of Havering is no exception. The Finance Function is at the heart of supporting the Council manage these pressures and developing strategies to achieve financial sustainability.The service has recently been redesigned in line with the Havering Target Operating Model and consists of a number of specialist centralised teams including the Business Partnering Team which provides the crucial link between Corporate Finance and frontline services and delivers professional support, challenge and advice to managers and leaders across the Council.This particular post will have lead business partnering responsibility for Childrens Services including Social Care and Education.As Strategic Finance Business Partner you will be the key financial advisor for Starting Well (Children's Social Care and Education). You will lead a small team and work closely with other finance staff to provide support, challenge and advice. You will empower managers to manage their budgets effectively and achieve value for money, ensure that there is robust forecasting and monitoring and that savings are delivered.About YouYou will have a combination of professional accounting skills and the interpersonal skills to allow you to form strong relationships with service managers and understand their business.You will understand the business partnering model of finance support and how to use analysis and data to add value and support effective decision making.You will have experience of working with large budgets and high levels of financial pressure and know how to support services to identify and deliver savings.You will have a good knowledge of current issues in Childrens and Education services and willingness to keep learning to ensure you are up to date.You will be motivated, with a desire to drive improvement and ensure value for money.You will have experience in leading strong and resilient high performing teams in supporting services to meet challenges head on.Please view hereFor an informal discussion about the post, please contactThe closing date for the receipt of applications is 29th March 2024 however interest in this job may be high and we therefore reserve the right to close the vacancy early.You will be notified if your application has been successful.
