- Lead the design and implementation of automation system and cyber security upgrades for a national infrastructure gas project
- Oversee Design, configuration and programming of industrial control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS platforms
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and handover of automation equipment and systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and enhance efficiency
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements for automation systems
- Analyse system performance data, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical expertise to resolve operational challenges
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while coordinating with vendors and contractors
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Extensive experience in automation systems design and implementation, preferably within the oil and gas sector
- Proficiency in PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI programming, and configuration. Allen Bradely ControlLogix experience would be preferable
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, OPC)
- Familiarity with safety systems such as SIS and SIL compliance
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing engineering teams and projects
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of National Gas and common industry standards
- Knowledge of National Gas G35 process and procedures
- Knowledge of both existing and emerging automation technologies
- Experience of Brownfield projects
- Certifications such as TUV Functional Safety Engineer or similar are an advantage
