Position : Managing DirectorLocation : Based Castleford, West Yorkshire with some international responsibilitySalary : £100,000-£120,000 plus an executive benefits packageYou must already have the right to live and work in the UK. We are unable to offer any visa support or sponsorship assistance for this position.In existence for more than 60 years, the Verder Group is a Netherlands based organisation which encompasses 20 manufacturing sites, 50 sales offices, 2000 employees and boasts a turnover in excess of €450 million.One of their group companies, Verder Liquids, is a specialist pump design, development and manufacturing organisation. As part of that, Verderflex is their peristaltic pump "pillar" which has its’ UK headquarters in Castleford, West Yorkshire. The UK site employs around 50 people and has revenues of c £15 million, with the total peristaltic pump pillar being c 65 people and €20 million revenues.We are now looking for a Managing Director to lead the UK site as well as taking on a key role in the pillar of the peristaltic pump business worldwide. Duties will be varied, but will include overseeing product development, manufacturing, logistics, customer service, sales (external distributors and internal distributors), health and safety, profitability. Over time, we expect the successful candidate to take more of an influential role on the overall international peristaltic pump pillar.About the RoleSite levelResponsibility for the UK manufacturing site and its performance in terms of :-
  • Sales – achieve forecasted revenue figures
  • Margins – achieve forecasted margins, profits and EBITDA
  • Health and Safety – ensure that health and safety is at the forefront of everyone’s thoughta, minimise near misses and accidents, develop a culture of safety first
  • Production – ensure customer satisfaction through achieving the required production and delivery levels in terms of OTIF, right first time, providing solutions
  • Quality – minimise waste and rework costs, learn from mistakes and take actions to prevent them occuring again
  • Research and Development / NPD - ensure that Verder stays at the forefront of technology and is competitive, lead on competitor analysis and customer feedback, oversee the development of existing products and the introduction of new products to meet market demand
  • Finance – ensure that invoice accuracy is achieved, debtor days are minimised, manage cash availability, accuracy of management and financial accounts
  • Leading the Senior Management team of 7 (R&D, Production, Purchasing, Sales & Product, Business development, Finance, and HSEQ & ESG)
  • Champion improvement processes, ensuring that best practice is adopted across the organisation
  • Provide regular, accurate information to the Group in terms of market information, forecasts, sales, management information
  • Ensure the continued availability of required skills, including identifying training needs and promoting employee professional and personal development
  • Promote the values of the Verder group at all times
