Applications are invited for a full-time substantive Consultant in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine to join the dynamic and welcoming Rheumatology department at London North West University Healthcare Trust. The post holder will join a team of 13 consultants supported by resident doctors, nurse specialists, advanced physiotherapy practitioners, and specialist pharmacists.London North West University Healthcare Trust is an NHSE commissioned specialised Rheumatology centre. There is a cross site CTD, Vasculitis and specialised rheumatology MDT combined with rheumatology colleagues at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. There is also an ILD MDT and an MSK Radiology MDT. There are established specialist clinics in CTD, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Early Inflammatory Arthritis, MSK Ultrasound, Psoriatic Arthritis, Metabolic Bone Disease ,and Idiopathic Inflammatory Myositis, as well as a GCA/TA US pathway facilitated through the Ambulatory Care Centre.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide 3.5 outpatient Rheumatology clinics per week. They will be expected to engage with the multidisciplinary team and will supervise junior doctors and other members of the MDT as well as provide undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.The post-holder will contribute to the ongoing care of the general medicine patients at Northwick Park Hospital site on a rota basis, shared between 8 consultants following this recruitment, and will also be involved in the provision of specialty rheumatology input to medical inpatients and ambulatory care.
