Job Title: Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Location: Barnet Borough, North London
Start Date: September 2025A welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Barnet is on the lookout for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with autism and ADHD on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time role starting in September, with a long-term placement in a supportive setting.The school values calm, confident support staff who know how to build trust, reduce overwhelm, and help children feel seen and safe.   • 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with autism and ADHD
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning
  • Using structure, patience and creativity to build engagement
  • Helping the pupil regulate, access the curriculum and build confidence
  • Being a key part of a caring, experienced team

  • Experience supporting children with autism and ADHD (school-based preferred)
  • A nurturing approach and clear communication style
  • Ability to stay calm, consistent, and proactive
  • Someone who truly ‘gets it’ when it comes to behaviour, sensory needs and trust-building
