Lead the end-to-end data migration and transition strategy for a major financial services transformation programme, ensuring seamless, accurate transfer of critical client and configuration data. This senior contract role offers a £700/day rate, hybrid working, and the opportunity to shape a greenfield data migration capability through February 2026.Key Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the end-to-end strategy for data migration and transition activities
  • Own development of data migration tooling, monitoring, and reconciliation frameworks
  • Lead on dress rehearsals, dry runs, cutover execution, and post-go-live validation
  • Coordinate business data readiness, transformation mapping, and stakeholder approvals
  • Act as SME and deputy to the Head of Data Migration & Transition for critical programmes
  • Collaborate with IT and business units to ensure clean, auditable, and fit-for-purpose data
  • Build internal data migration capability and mentor junior colleagues
  • Support production go-lives and respond to any post-migration data issues or risks

  • Proven leadership of complex data migration and transition projects in financial services
  • Hands-on knowledge of data transformation, cleansing, and cutover practices
  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx), data mapping, and SQL querying
  • Strong understanding of client, product, and reference data in regulated environments
  • Excellent communication skills and experience engaging business and technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with full migration lifecycle: from planning through go-live and post-implementation
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience building a data migration function or operating model from scratch
  • Understanding of KYC and regulatory data requirements
  • Track record of delivering customer data migration cutovers
  • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and quality frameworks
  • RAID management and benefits realisation tracking
