About usLinked to the Reta Lila Weston Institute of Neurological Studies, the Queen Square Brain Bank (QSBB) is a part of the Department of Clinical and Movement Neurosciences at University College London, which has an outstanding international profile in all aspects of the Neurosciences.The QSBB, founded over 30 years ago, houses one of the largest collections of brains with neurodegenerative diseases in Europe. This unique tissue resource was established through generous donation by patients and with the support of their families. The overarching mission of the QSBB is to advance the research in neurodegenerative diseases by providing high quality brain tissues and associated clinical and pathological data to researchers in the UK and worldwide.About the roleWe are now recruiting an enthusiastic Database Manager to lead on the development and management of all operational, technical, and business-related aspects of the QSBB database. Please do not upload any additional attachments as these will not be considered by the selection panel.About youYou’ll have an honours degree in computer science/IT, biological sciences, or a related discipline, coupled with in-depth knowledge of database technologies and the ability to independently troubleshoot software and hardware issues. Strong communication, numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage your work without extensive supervision.This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation.
