- Facilitate and manage the month-end close process, ensuring adherence to timelines and providing assistance to staff as required.
- Oversee part of the Accounts Payable process, verifying proper approval of invoices and travel and entertainment expenses, and resolving any outstanding billing issues.
- Assume responsibility for the timely and accurate completion of monthly account reconciliations for critical areas, including payroll, marketing, capital expenditures, leases, bank accounts, and occupancy costs.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and ensure compliance with internal policies, capitalise assets from Construction in Progress (CIP) and (FAAS), and record depreciation journal entries.
- Prepare and be responsible for monthly payroll journal entries and all payroll-related balance sheet accounts for all entities.
- Review and reconcile marketing expenses in collaboration with the marketing team to manage the monthly marketing spend analysis, including scrutiny of required month-end accruals.
- Prepare and review rent and occupancy reconciliations, including information gathering for key lease data and validation of rent schedules under U.S. GAAP standard ASC 842 and IFRS 16.
- Own the monthly analysis of financial statements and report on variances against plan and prior forecasts.
- Prepare and review Studio Profit and Loss statements, including information gathering and monthly meetings.
- Assist with financial and tax audits and any ad hoc filings.
- Play an integral role in new system rollouts to the International markets.
- Undertake other assigned projects, including participation in special projects, ERP and other system implementations, internal controls, and ad hoc analyses.
- Manage and oversee third-party teams, including training, onboarding, and efficiency management
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
- ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of Accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP
- 4-6 years post-qualification experience
- Big Four or similar-paced industry experience highly preferred
- Experience with working in a complex ERP system
- Experience in technology, retail and/or e-commerce preferred
- Excellent communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels in a clear and concise manner
- Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet pressing deadlines
- Team player with a strong work ethic
- Demonstrable people management experience
